The Company Track Protection Australia is a leading provider in the Rail Safeworking Industry, helping to deliver a wide range of Government projects and infrastructure maintenance works to all rail operations. The Role As the Assistant Accountant you will be working with the Company Accountant and sharing the responsibilities for the day-to-day finance and accounting needs of the business such as: Managing the day-to-day finance and accounting activities of the organisation, including bank reconciliations Managing the accounts’ payable function including the processing of invoices and payment of grants Managing the accounts receivable function, including the allocation of payments, credit control of overdue payments and reconciliation of payment Processing payroll, other related payroll tasks and relevant HR administrative tasks Reconciliation and reporting on inventory, monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules Ensuring accounting standards and policies are adhered to Preparing the monthly accounts and supporting the Directors in preparation of Board and Management reports Financial analysis and reporting as required by the business Supporting the reconciliation, preparation, and lodgement of monthly or quarterly business activity statements (BAS) Skills & Experience 2+ years’ experience in an accounting function in a similar sized business 1+ years' experience in group accounting Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business or related field. Expert knowledge of XERO and other relevant software such as Microsoft Excel Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
