About the Role We are currently seeking an Asset Improvement Engineer to join the Technology & Improvement Department at our Kwinana Pigment Plant. The Asset Improvement Engineer will be accountable for the strategic oversight of the business’ assets through the execution of improvement and integrity programs to ensure asset perform its desired function over its life cycle(e.g. major fixed assets, structural infrastructure) and the support and execution of asset improvement projects. Key responsibilities include: Project management and execution of asset improvement and integrity projects such as corrosion and concrete remediation programs. Managing and supervising contractors on the execution of remediation programs to ensure work is performed in a safely manner by adhering to Tronox SHE policies and standards. Influencing and governing the asset integrity compliance, and inspection process, developing and defining methods, process and scope of inspection. Assisting maintenance and production departments with engineering, structural and civil related queries and providing support to develop asset strategies as required. Aligning computerised maintenance management systems and inspection databases to support our processes. Undertaking fitness for service reviews and Risk Based Inspections on major equipment. Reviewing, updating engineering standards and developing specifications for equipment and piping. Developing and maintaining a 5 year plan for the business unit Continuously identify opportunities for risk and cost reduction in the business Lead, prepare and engage in risk assessments, FMEA, facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of major plant detractors Providing support to capital asset replacement projects and Define Asset Strategies Management and execution of complex asset improvement and asset integrity programs and projects Assist with maintenance and capital budget development Expand upon and apply existing preventive/predictive maintenance platforms such as vibration monitoring, rotating machine performance monitoring, lube oil condition monitoring, analyse, predict and solve. Develop maintenance/overhaul plans for rotating equipment, including detailed scopes of work, documentation packages and quality plans. Supporting the safe operation and maintenance of multiple rotating equipment like steam turbines, compressors, pumps, and gearboxes. Mentoring and coaching to required engineers About You To be successful in this role you will need to possess: Tertiary engineering qualification in Mechanical Engineering. NRE or charted Engineer but not essential 5 years of rotating equipment engineering field experience in petrochemical, refining, chemical, oil and gas (preferred) Skilled in the application of rotating equipment performance and condition monitoring methods Experience in rotating equipment like pumps, compressors, steam turbines and other drives (preferred) Project management experience. Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with key stakeholders at various levels within the business. Previous experience managing contractors and consultants Proficient in Microsoft Suite Understanding and implementation of change management process Troubleshooting process to reduce equipment downtime Experience in predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance and condition monitoring
