Join our expanding team as a Specialized Advanced Foot Care Nurse in Ottawa. At Sonia FootCare, our health and wellness center stands as the ultimate destination for holistic care, addressing a wide range of needs. We're excited to grow our multidisciplinary team and are searching for a dedicated Nurse with expertise in Advanced Foot Care. In this crucial role, you'll take the lead in promoting healthy lower limbs and preventing foot complications for our valued clinic patients. Our state-of-the-art facility is fully equipped with modern amenities, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care. Position: Independent Contract Advanced Foot Care Nurse (Part-time, potential for full-time hours) Compensation: Competitive Pay Plan Responsibilities: • Perform thorough assessments of lower limbs and feet, creating personalized treatment plans. • Possessing knowledge of wound care, lower limb circulatory diseases, and diabetes management is considered a strong asset. • Perform nail cutting and filing, gentle feet massages, and soften and buff corns and calluses. • Administer appropriate treatments within the nursing practice's scope. • Accurately record all assessments and treatments in the clinic's system. • Collaborate with fellow healthcare practitioners within the clinic and provide referrals when necessary. • Adhere to IPAC best practices and guidelines during care and treatments. • Maintain strict sterilization of foot care instruments and tools. • Experience in working with cognitively impaired and high-risk residents, along with excellent clinical and communication skills. • Must have their own tools and sterilization equipment (e.g., autoclave). • Engage in continuous professional development opportunities. Qualifications: • Currently registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. • Professional Liability insurance (e.g., RNAO, WeRPN, CNPS). • Mandatory possession of an Advanced Nursing Foot Care certificate. • Knowledge of wound care, lower limb circulatory diseases, and diabetes management is advantageous. • Proficiency in both written and oral English communication. • Strong time management and interpersonal skills. • Experience in report writing and making referrals. • Ability to excel in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. • Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records systems. We Provide: • Options for part-time, permanent, and casual positions. • Part-time hours: 20 hours per week. • Competitive salary: $30.00-$60.00 per hour. • Day shifts, Monday to Friday work schedule. • Additional commission-based pay opportunities. Preferred License/Certification: • Nursing License. • Foot Care Nursing Certificate. Location: • On-site clinic, long-term care homes, and retirement facilities.
