Our busy hospitality group is looking for an awesome Assistant Accountant to join our small, passionate and professional finance team based in Melbourne CBD. In this role, you will be working directly with the Finance Manager and have responsibility for following recurring tasks; Accounting Duties Weekly Venues sale receipting and reconciliation. Process creditor invoices in Dext and receipting through Xero. Ensure accurate weekly journals posted for weekly Profit and Loss report. Bank and credit card reconciliations. Account payable: statement reconciliation, weekly supplier payments and ad hoc invoice entry. Admin assistance as required. Maintain the back-end of our POS systems. Daily accounts inbox email monitoring and response. Provide authorisation in a two-part process for all payments. Maintain and develop appropriate financial control procedures to ensure accurate recording of transactions in the company's financial reporting system. Implement and adhere to internal control procedures within finance department. Monthly Maintain end of month procedures for month end close on timely manner. Ensure accurate and up to date balance sheet reconciliations and produced and maintained. Maintain company ledgers, journals and adjustments. Assist month end tax filings. Operations In the absence of the Finance Manager, provide support across other finance functionality, specifically during leave periods. Drive accountability and coach operators on the financial processes which underpin their business. Assist in additional key finance functions and projects to help meet the required team goals. Support the Finance Manager as part of the ongoing financial risk management across the business. To be considered for this role, you will need to have at least 2-years experience in a similar role - ideally in a hospitality group and be suitable qualified. You'll be passionate about detail and quality in your work, and take pride in providing timely and accurate information to the management teams.
