Construction Project Manager Overview: • Our client, a post-secondary institution with a campus in the heart of downtown Edmonton, is in need of an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee the construction of a new 7-story building adjacent to the existing campus. • This project and engagement is scheduled for 3 years with option to extend in order to complete any outstanding deliverables. • The Project Manager will have access to facilities, networks, technology, and personnel in Edmonton, but will have the ability to work remotely as appropriate. Job Responsibilities: • The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the management, communication, and administration aspects of the capital construction project for the School. As a central point of contact, their key responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: • Project planning; • Budget management; • Schedule management; • Resource allocation; • Risk management; • Contract management; • Quality control; • Liaise with stakeholders; • Documentation; • Problem-solving; • Client relations; • Closeout; • Handover; Qualifications: • Minimum of 15 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager of large scale projects in Alberta • Post-secondary certification or technology diploma in Engineering, Architecture. • PMP Certificate. • Having managed the implementation of major construction projects for higher education institutions. • Proven track of being fully responsible and successfully delivered projects over $100M • Capacity to identify and address efficiently, constructively and quickly problematic situations. • Capacity to communicate with any level of management • Excellent leadership abilities in the delivery of construction projects • Excellent client service/management, interpersonal, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills • Experience and in-depth knowledge of procurement processes, and laws governing construction contracts. • MS Project or any other project management software • Practical / Applied Experience with project management methodologies (PMI or other) • Documentation processes and supporting software systems • Practical negotiation experience
