We pride ourselves on our dynamic, innovative team and our partnerships with many of Australia’s leading ecommerce brands Role Overview: Please note this role is 100% remote/WFH based. Reporting to the Founder, the Finance Manager will be instrumental in laying the foundations of financial processes for Ecommerce Media. They will have primary day-to-day responsibility for the financial operations of the business and ensure the accurate delivery of financial results on an ongoing basis. The Head of Finance will be a key member of the leadership team, and their ability to manage the financial health of the organization is critical to its success. This role requires strong financial acumen, leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a commitment to financial integrity. Demonstrated competence in managing multiple stakeholder expectations, a hands-on approach and resilience as a finance leader will set you apart in being successful for this role. In addition to financial management we are also seeking a candidate who would enjoy assisting with some general HR and management assistance within the business. The split of time would be approximately 80-85% financial management, with the remainder being used for administrative assistance. Responsibilities: Finance Develop and execute the organization's financial strategy, aligning it with overall business goals. Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling efforts to support decision-making. Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to senior management Ensure the integrity of monthly results through hands on ownership of the month end process, with timely and accurate completion of journals, accruals, reconciliations Identify and mitigate financial risks and establish controls to safeguard company assets. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws. Oversee financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and procurement. Optimize costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction or efficiency improvements. Effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Uphold high ethical standards in financial operations and ensure legal compliance. Responsibilities: HR / Admin Assistance Handle HR management through Employment Hero. Onboard new staff, including sending contracts, HR onboarding, and arranging equipment for new hires. Assist with business systems and operations analysis, improvement, and implementation. Provide general administrative support, such as organising team events Requirements: CA or CPA qualified with experience of payroll responsibilities. Technical skills are strong coupled with your strong commercial acumen and ability to influence and partner at a strategic level with the SLT. Working in a lean team you are not afraid of being hands on and getting into the details, while also keeping a grasp of the big picture. Proven experience in senior financial roles in startups or other fast-paced, high-growth environments. Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling skills. Familiarity with financial regulations, accounting principles, and tax laws relevant to a growing business. Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities Effective communication skills, especially when presenting financial information to non-finance team members. Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Xero, ERP systems, Payment Processing Platforms, Excel etc). Ability to work in a dynamic and often resource-constrained environment.
