The Specialist in Cybersecurity holds a pivotal role within our cybersecurity initiative, dedicated to supporting and delivering state-of-the-art cybersecurity capabilities. The successful candidate should demonstrate the technical proficiency needed for comprehensive research and insightful recommendations. Moreover, possessing strong interpersonal skills is essential for fostering relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. Exceptional organizational, communication, and reporting abilities are crucial for effectively managing multiple concurrent projects. The Specialist will play a key part in advancing our cybersecurity goals through a combination of technical expertise and collaborative leadership. Responsabilities: • Lead and contribute to the successful delivery of cybersecurity capabilities, collaborating with cross-functional teams, IT departments, and security experts to enhance the overall security posture of the organization and its affiliates. • Conduct in-depth research on emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to inform decision-making and enhance the organization's security posture. • Stay abreast of industry developments, providing insights into potential risks and opportunities. • Manage the end-to-end RFx process, ensuring the organization partners with best-in-class cybersecurity solution providers. This may include defining requirements, success and evaluation criteria, vendor scoring, AFC and business case documentation and follow-up among others. • Evaluate, recommend, and implement cybersecurity tools and technologies that align with the organization's security strategy and objectives. • Develop, review and update tool and solution roadmaps. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, IT departments, and security experts to implement security controls, technologies, and processes that enhance the overall security posture of the organization and its affiliates. • Provide regular updates to senior management, support reporting to the board of directors, executive committee members, and other stakeholders on the state of the cybersecurity program. • Highlight successes, challenges, and recommendations for improvement. • Foster a culture of innovation by exploring and adopting new technologies to enhance the security of Air Canada’s assets. • Define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of cybersecurity program delivery. • Regularly assess and report on the performance against established KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and optimization. • Establish and implement quality assurance processes to ensure the successful deployment and functionality of cybersecurity capabilities. • Conduct thorough testing and validation of security solutions to guarantee their effectiveness and alignment with organizational requirements. • Conduct post-implementation reviews of cybersecurity projects to evaluate the success of the delivery, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for refinement. • Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to internal teams regarding newly implemented cybersecurity capabilities. • Provide training and documentation to ensure that end-users and relevant personnel are proficient in utilizing and maintaining the deployed security solutions. Qualifications • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field including computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or a related discipline. • 10+ years of progressive experience in the field of cybersecurity is required. Candidates should have a solid background in various aspects of cybersecurity, including a strong understanding of cybersecurity tools, technologies, architecture principles and best practices. • Proven experience in cybersecurity program delivery, including research, RFx management, and tool implementation. • Excellent project management and organizational skills are required to be able to prioritize work effectively and handle multiple concurrent projects. • Effective communication and collaboration skills are critical for this role as delivery or cyber capabilities is only possible with support from the extended IT and Cyber team as well as various business units. • Experience in the aviation or airline industry is highly desirable as it provides a better understanding of the unique challenges and regulatory requirements in this sector. Certifications (Preferred): • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) Conditions of Employment: • Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest, at the time any offer of employment is made and seeking any required work permits/visas or other authorizations which may be required is the sole responsibility of the candidates applying for this position.
