About the role: Due to an internal promotion, we are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team in the Australian Head Office based in Melbourne. This role will report directly to the Finance Manager and provide valuable information to enable better decision making as our products support global health care. The key responsibilities will include: Complete the preparation of various tax and insurance reports to ensure the business is compliant, including payroll tax, BAS, Annual Tax returns, FBT returns, Workers Compensation Renewals, etc. Provide support to the Finance Manager and wider finance team, including accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Management and review of expense claims to ensure the presence of receipts and tax invoices, escalating any anomalies found through Concur. Perform customer credit management processes Perform inventory management, including material releases and stock adjustments. Maintain a complete and accurate fixed asset register and conduct asset counts as required. Assist in the preparation of month end reporting. Complete account reconciliations and identify and rectify any errors or anomalies to ensure accuracy of data. Act as a business partner for the business, providing information, analysis, and recommendations to the management team. Analyse and interpret financial statements and accounts to identify variances to budgets and business plan and ensure appropriate investigation and follow up. Manage intercompany recharges. About you To be successful in this position you will be a motivated person who thrives on working in an international environment, articulate with attention to detail and good communications skills. Taking responsibility, particularly with confidential information; you are passionate about providing commercial business insights, with a team player mentality and who is naturally curious and questioning. Your technical skills will include: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or a related field Minimum 2 years' working experience in a finance role considered favorably. Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures. Having completed or commenced and currently studying towards CA/CPA qualification Previous knowledge and experience in the SAP software system and Concur are preferred. Proficiency in MS Office including Advanced Excel skills Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively Excellent written and verbal communication skills Customer service focus to both internal and external stakeholders Please note that this role is a 5 day in office position.
