However, a new opportunity has arisen for a high achieving Assistant Accountant to join our small finance team. The role will report to the Finance Manager, and you will engage with the finance team at our head office in Silverwater. But most importantly it’s about you… Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Commencing or working towards CPA or CA accreditation. You have 3 to 5 years of solid all-round Accounting experience under your belt, demonstrating a passion for process improvement. Experience working in a medium sized business. Experienced in the use of a modern ERP system such as Epicor or similar enterprise level ERP system. Experienced working with inventory management, foreign currency & exchange rates. Knowledge of BAS, Payroll Tax returns and FBT. You have advanced excel skills (such as pivot tables, charts, V-lookups). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proactive problem-solver that is disciplined, structured and analytical. You want to know how we can do it better to continuously find operational improvements and cost efficiencies. Bonus points if you have experience with AASB 16. An interest in the commercial food equipment industry or packaging equipment. Duties & Responsibilities: Allocate customer payments for the Group entities. Follow up outstanding accounts receivables, liaise with customers and investigate discrepancies. Prepare daily sales and invoice reports for the management team. Process the paperwork for refunds. Daily reconciliation of the bank accounts for the Group. Create customer cards in Epicor and apply credits to invoices. Assist with month-end and year-end journals, prepayments, accruals and other Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts reconciliations. Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual management reports. Assist with external audits as necessary, by providing applicable documentation and information to the auditors. Other tasks as directed by the Finance Manager and CFO of J L Lennard. An optimistic and positive “can do” attitude ensuring that it gets done on time and in an accurate manner.
