We are seeking an experienced Financial accountant to add to our team of accountants who is wanting to make a real difference to Square Penny and their clients and is confident they can hit the ground running. This position is a good fit for someone who is passionate about working with SME clients to understand their financial information and who has a business improvement focus. Tasks & Responsibilities Use your high level of financial literacy to deliver outstanding service to a diverse group of clients to help them navigate the complexities of every day business. Onboarding new clients to our systems. Preparing budgets and forecasts Monthly/Quarterly reporting and analysis Reporting to Management and key stakeholders of SMEs in a language they can easily understand Review of client processes to improve efficiencies. Ensure compliance lodgement deadlines are met eg payroll tax, workcover, BAS, superannuation. Mentor, develop and train staff on systems, procedures and Square Penny protocols Contributing to the FA Team and taking part in internal projects. Skills & Experience Required To succeed in this role, you require: A minimum of 10 years relevant experience, particularly in the SME space of $1m to $20m turnover. CPA or CA certification preferred Experience with Xero, MYOB, or both, and associated apps Excel-savvy with excellent Microsoft Office skills Customer service & continuous improvement focused Interest in automation and improving process efficiency Possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Proactive with a knack for problem-solving Experience in a fast-paced environment and ability to multi task a must Experience in managing people Able to work from home with the flexibility to also attend meetings at clients premises as required Benefits & Perks Our work environment is truly flexible, as we understand that work is not your only priority Negotiable workdays and hours (minimum of 24 hours per week).
