Your role: As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll get hands-on experience and responsibility early in your career. You’ll be leading the team that looks after the mechanical aspects of the ship, both at sea and ashore. As the technical expert onboard, you’ll be responsible for the vessel’s structures and systems, anticipating and solving challenges, and making sure everything runs smoothly. If you’re already studying or ready to study a job-relevant degree at your choice of accredited university, you can join the Navy and have your fees paid for. You’ll earn a salary while you complete your degree and walk straight into a Navy role following graduation. The professional development you gain as a Navy Engineer enables automatic Chartered Professional Engineer accreditation with Engineers Australia, giving you international recognition of your engineering competency.
