We are a multidisciplinary Engineering Consulting firm that performs a range of Design and Engineering services to regional NSW-based mining, fabrication and agricultural companies. Our office is located in the Central West of New South Wales, within the vibrant regional town of Orange. About the position: We are seeking an experienced Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The role will be reporting to our Operations Manager. Your responsibilities will include the following tasks but are not limited to: Responsible for recording and documenting all mechanic designs, sketches, and project-related information. Operation of CAD tools to provide Design, Detail Drafting, and Engineering Analysis using software such as Solid Edge CAD; Strand7 and SPACE GASS. Liaising product design with subcontractors and clients Preparing engineering reports: proposals, progress reports, specification documents, memos, presentations, meeting minutes and notes Coordinating all aspects of production including selection of manufacturing methods and fabrication methodologies; selection of system components; and managing product modifications to ensure conformance with design specifications and relevant standards. Carrying out design modifications along with full revision control detailing the alterations. Effective oral and written communication skills with an ability to liaise with vendor and contractor Review relevant information related to the project to identify cost-driven items and quantities. Analyse the overall project to assess the cost impact and assist the cost estimator in obtaining a more accurate cost estimate. Ensuring the projects are delivered to the highest quality standard defined by the industry and required by our client to ensure safety and excellence in our delivery. Understands the importance of safe work procedures and demonstrated experience in implementing principles of safety Ability to understand and implement quality management systems, tools, and processes within a culture of continuous improvement About the applicant: We are seeking self-motivated applicants, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, who can work on a range of projects. At least two (2) years of experience of relevant job experience Ability to identify errors and have key attention to detail in assessing the information. Well-developed problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner A current driver's licence is essential.
