What does the role look like? This part-time role is focused on maximising profits, accurately predicting financial trends, managing budgets, maintaining cash flow, handling daily account tasks, and offering strategic financial advice, all with professionalism and a touch of creativity. The role may have the ability to increase in hours as the business grows. Some of your responsibilities will include: Conducting a thorough analysis of profit margins across various products or services. Developing accurate financial forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and business goals to assist in strategic decision-making. Creating and managing budgets in collaboration with department heads, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives and prudent resource allocation. Monitoring cash flow, identifying potential cash gaps or surpluses, and implementing strategies to maintain healthy liquidity levels. Accurate and timely submission of the Business Activity Statement (BAS). Overseeing day-to-day accounting activities such as accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. Evaluating insurance needs, procuring appropriate coverage, and managing insurance policies to mitigate risks and protect the company's assets. Generating timely and accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations, tax laws and compliance in AUS, USA and EU, and reporting requirements, and staying abreast of any changes or updates in financial legislation. Collaborating with senior management to develop financial strategies aligned with business objectives, identifying opportunities for growth, cost savings, and risk mitigation. Providing financial insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis, industry knowledge, and financial expertise to support informed decision-making and drive business growth. Enough about us. Let’s talk about you! Our ideal candidate would possess a blend of financial expertise, strategic thinking, and adaptability. Our ideal candidate will have experience in: Qualifications in finance, accounting or similar related field are preferred. Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management. Registered BAS agent. Proficiency in financial software and tools, in particular the Xero accounting system. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively. Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and compliance. Strategic mindset with the capacity to identify opportunities for financial optimisation. Integrity and professionalism in handling confidential financial information.
