We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team and elevate our food offerings to new heights. Position Overview As the Head Chef of the hotel, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen team in delivering high-quality, delicious meals that exceed our guests' expectations. You will have the opportunity to showcase your creativity, culinary expertise, and leadership skills while working in a supportive and collaborative environment. You will benefit from inheriting an already solid kitchen team, who have been with us for many years. You will be the sort of chef who is not afraid to take risks to offer the complete plate of food. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all aspects of the kitchen operation, including menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and presentation. Develop innovative and seasonally inspired menus that cater to the diverse tastes and preferences of our clientele. Ensure consistency and excellence in food quality, taste, and presentation, adhering to all relevant food safety and hygiene standards. Oversee inventory management, ordering, and stock control to minimise waste and optimise cost efficiency. Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and professional growth. Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies to enhance the dining experience and drive revenue growth. Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen workspace, always adhering to sanitation and safety standards. Stay updated on industry trends, culinary techniques, and best practices to continuously improve and innovate our food offerings. Have the ability of managing our 120-seat restaurant during multiple sittings while simultaneously providing classic hotel staples to the front bar of the hotel. Qualifications Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume, hospitality environment, preferably within a restaurant setting; A sous chef with at least three, continuous years’ experience in your current position who is looking to take the next step in their culinary career. Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognised culinary institution. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Creativity and passion for food, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to culinary excellence. Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required. The ability to manage the multiple menus the venue has to offer including but not limited to Restaurant, Front bat & snacks menu.
