St John of God Geelong Hospital St John of God Hospital Geelong is a 253 bed hospital and is recognised as the leading provider of private health care in the Barwon and South-Western region. The hospital provides a range of services including an emergency department, day surgery, medical, surgical and maternity services, along with a 24 hour critical care unit and Cath Lab services. Your role at St John of God Geelong Hospital You will assist the Patient Services Manager by coordinating the day-to-day operational requirements of the Patient Services team whilst ensuring a high quality of service delivery to our hospital, patients, doctors and visitors. You will work closely with the Admission Department to ensure all patients admitted to the hospital have been informed of their health cover and receive informed financial consent on admission The Position Liaise with ward clerks, medical and nursing staff to ensure the completion and accuracy of rehabilitation, psychiatric, coronary care, neo-natal, overnight, day only or acute care certificates as required. Ensure all documentation is accurate, completed and signed prior to or on discharge e.g. hospital claim form. Ensure that the patient is aware of any out-of-pocket expenses incurred during their hospitalisation e.g. pharmacy, telephone, meals, sundries, co-payments and excesses. Process all monies, received via front counter or mail and issue receipts as required. Ensure the banking is completed and reconciled daily. Ensure that there are effective systems and processes in place for all hospital patients so that they are provided with relevant information including informed financial consent prior to or on admission. You will have experience with accounts receivable and other administrative duties and demonstrate ability to liaise effectively with the public, patients, and all levels of staff in a professional manner To succeed you will have analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
