Senior Geotechnical Engineer Full-time Monday to Friday Role located in Central West NSW Spectrum Mining Consultants is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to assist in managing a large Ground investigation program. This is a full-time position reporting to the Principal Consultant. Applicants will ideally be based in Orange, NSW or be willing to relocate. The role is offered on Monday to Friday roster. You will collaborate with a team of industry leading experts on the investigation and design for large tailings dams. This role is perfect for the engineer looking to take the next step in their career. The role will require you to be a self-starter, autonomous and to manage a team of professionals. Key Duties include: Safety leadership through visible behaviours Overall Supervision and management of investigation activities across a large area with multiple field teams Collation and management of a large database Development and implementation of a robust QAQC system to ensure the highest level of rigour. Supervision of various geotechnical and hydrogeological testing regimens Preparation of published logs Preparation of Factual Reports Provide site supervision, compliance, and performance monitoring on a day-to-day basis Coordinate a range of geological, geophysical, and geotechnical investigations, ensuring client requirements are exceeded. Utilise your geological experience to streamline and manage the project Daily and weekly progress reporting Participate in and coordinate operational risk workshops Skills, Qualifications and Experience required: Bachelor’s degree in civil, geological, geotechnical, or mining engineering. Masters degree in Geotechnical would be looked upon favourably. 5-7 years’ experience in the mining or civil industry, with a focus on Ground Investigation and Tailings Proficiency in Bentley OpenGround Software Exceptional time and program management skills Ability to work independently and effectively manage a team environment. Proficiency with MS Windows environment Collaborative and hands on approach with responsibility taken for deliverables and outcomes.
