RSPCA Queensland is a non-government, community-based charity dedicated to improving the lives of domestic, farmed, and native animals in Queensland. Our mission statement is simple but powerful: Together We Change Lives. About the role Your role will be multifaceted, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities. A composed and collected demeanour will be crucial as you navigate the complexities of reuniting lost animals with their owners and managing general shelter operations and enquires. Your commitment to providing excellent customer service will be evident as you build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, council members, agencies, and various departments. Processing Council animal impoundments, registrations, reclaims, surrenders, compliance with MBRC Local Laws. Attending to all Council Pound and RSPCA Queensland frontline customer service and telephone enquiries. Maintaining RSPCA Queensland and Council databases. Assisting with handling of incoming stray animals. Coordinating and processing may be required at times animal adoptions, surrenders, requests for private euthanasia. Provide excellent customer service and build positive relationships with internal and external relations (staff, volunteers, council, agencies, different departments etc). Ensuring customers comply with Local Council By-Laws. Who are we looking for? A strong administration and customer service background. Sound knowledge to verbally and visually identify and describe animals body language when arriving into care. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including good conflict resolution skills. Excellent organisational skills, time management and the ability to cope in high pressure situations. A basic understanding of Council animal management local laws (or ability to learn). Good organisational skills. Excellent office/computer skills (Microsoft Office, Email, Internet, ability to quickly learn to use both Council and RSPCA databases). A passion for animals and a commitment to achieving the long-term goals of the RSPCA Qld. Minimum age 18 years old. This is a full time 10-month parental leave contract, working across a 7-day roster with regular weekend work required.
