The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, eager to learn. About the Position The Junior Accountant will play a pivotal role within the finance team utilising their knowledge surrounding payroll, reporting & reconciliations. Broadly speaking the duties of the role include: Assist with the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Maintain monthly general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and perform inter-entity loan transaction reconciliations and account reconciliations. Prepare and ensure timely completion of bank reconciliations. Handle bookkeeping functions including day-to-day financial transactions, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Assist with payroll functions including monthly payroll and employee expense reimbursement processing. Help prepare monthly cash flow statements and budgets. Liaise with external service providers and government agencies such as tax consultants and the ATO. Perform other ad-hoc and general accounting tasks as assigned. About You Suitable candidates will have a combination of the following experience and skills: Degree level qualification or currently studying towards completion. Enrollment in or intention to start CPA or CA programs is advantageous. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting firm or industry. Good understanding of accounting principles. Proficient in MYOB, XERO, and Microsoft Excel. Great attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to learn and be a positive team member.
