As a key member of Nacap’s Operational Leadership Group, you’ll shape our engineering practices, drive technological advancements, build capability and contribute to our growth. Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Vice President, you’ll be based in Melbourne, supporting construction projects throughout Australia and Papua New Guinea. In this pivotal role, you will build a talented team of multidisciplinary engineers and designers, ensuring efficient resource allocation, project management, and successful delivery of engineering projects. Key Responsibilities • People Leadership: Build the technical capability of engineers, including the development of graduates by coaching and supporting others to grow and develop. • Engineering Delivery: Be accountable for successful engineering support across various project phases, ensuring alignment with client expectations. • Consultant Collaboration: Oversee specialist professional engineering consultants, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. • Tender Expertise: Support the development and scoping of tender estimates, participate in corporate reviews, and deliver technical presentations during submissions. • Budget Governance: Create and manage engineering budgets for different contract scopes, ensuring financial discipline. • Resource Management: Lead and manage our professional engineering resources, optimizing resource allocation while maintaining high-quality output. Experience Required • Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical). • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in EPC and/or D&C project delivery within Oil & Gas, LNG, Renewables, and/or Defence markets. • Technical knowledge: Demonstrated experience working across a range of energy infrastructure including pipelines, facilities and windfarms. • Leadership Acumen: 15 years of experience as an Engineering Manager / Principal Engineer or in a similar role. • Digital Vision: Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives and their impact on engineering processes. • Technical Competency: High proficiency in controlling and administering engineering work. • Specialization Insights: Exposure to power transmission projects and geotechnical engineering is advantageous. • Procurement Management: Experience managing technical procurement teams is beneficial.
