Job responsibilities: Ensure that mechanical systems and equipment designs are in accordance with safety regulations, industry standards and best practices. Lead and participate in technical investigations, root cause analyses for equipment failures and incidents involving the Mechanical Engineering discipline. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and relevant calculations. Managing projects, subcontractors, clients and schedules to meet deadlines. Mentoring and training of Junior Engineers and technical staff. Check drawings and calculations of designs generated by colleagues for accuracy and practicality. Undertake technical reviews, investigations and inspections where required. Site travel to gather information of installed equipment to allow for engineering upgrades to be performed to accommodate change of operation. Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for proposed designs. Requirements A positive can-do attitude combined with high creativity and passion for exploring the boundaries of engineering technology Relevant tertiary degree i.e., Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Registration as RPEQ/Chartered or ability to register as RPEQ/Chartered 5+ years’ engineering experience Strong proficiency in CAD software (Inventor, AutoCAD) and other engineering tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and fabrication techniques. Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
