Looking for Engineer for FV Makybe vessel is 34 metres long Engineer will need a MED 1 to be able to run the boat. We will be fishing for bluefin tuna, big eye tuna, yellowfin tuna, broad bill while we are long lining. Also we will be purse seining. The retainer for the position will be 150,000 plus percentage of catch. Engineers role: •Fishing operations at sea •Responsible for the day to day running and maintenance of vessels as directed, pre checks, general start ups, checks, record keeping, servicing, vessel crane and basic hydraulic repairs. •General maintenance and upkeep of the vessel •Ensure safety of self, vessel and others Essential: •Qualification as Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 •Sound knowledge of engineering and vessel maintenance and responsibilities •Can diagnose problems and communicate them with the ability to complete basic repairs as required •Unsupervised serving of machinery •Understand and complete daily check, record keeping is maintained and reporting of issues or faults is timely and accurate •Relevant work experience in similar role Employer questions Your application will include the following questions: Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
