Key responsibilities With supervision and guidance from senior engineering staff you will project manage the delivery of road infrastructure projects through the administration of contracts and provision of technical expertise and support to the design, construction and maintenance processes. Some of your responsibilities will include: • Manage under supervision, projects or elements of projects and: • provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of project outcomes, value for money and best practice are achieved • concept planning, project design, development, and implementation phases of nominated project/s in close liaison with advisors and other key stakeholders • Under supervision, manage the project team, consultants, and contractors to ensure all members are appropriately skilled and utilised, and monitor and report on project progress against predetermined time, cost, and quality specifications • Identify potential problem areas and negotiate modifications or adaptations to the design briefs where necessary to achieve acceptance. • Assist in the selection of the most suitable contract process for project delivery, then assist in administration of the contract to ensure compliance and successful delivery. • Maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders Mandatory qualifications and conditions • A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks • Current C class drivers licence Requirements of the role • Project Management - Applies project management principles and methodology to achieve project outcomes for construction projects • Engineering Operations - Applies a professional input to the operation of engineering activities under guidance. • Contract Administration - Applies an understanding of contract administration to administer construction contracts • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to enable the collaborative delivery of customer- focused outcomes.
