ABOUT THE JOB We need people with spatial science and technology expertise. The work involves IT and geospatial tasks in data governance, GIS and enterprise architecture. Building map applications and data modelling. Bathymetric data management, metadata and hydrographic data processing. Geospatial and design skills for chart production and workflows or applying your programming skills and scientific knowledge in oceanography to collect, analyse and deliver tide and wave information products. Configure and support geospatial applications, setup webservices or network protocols for real time data delivery. WE’RE LOOKING FOR A team player who has a passion for providing innovative spatial products and services. Someone who: • Has skills managing, developing, and supplying geospatial products, systems and services. • Has experience in data management and delivery, data processing, and ability to do spatial data analysis. • Can proactively research, investigate and resolve problems or implement solutions. • Can look outside the box and think into the future for the needs of the spatial community as we advance into the oceans in a way that has not been done before. ABOUT THE ROLE AND THE TEAM • We use a range of applications and specialised software to manage Coastal Information and 3D data. • Our GIS systems are based on the Esri suite of products. Experience working with GIS web services and data will be useful. • We also use a variety of software for chart production, data processing and managing coastal information products. You’ll be part of the Coastal Information Team. We love what we do, get along well and work collaboratively to deliver a range of services which cover geospatial information systems, data collection, processing and management, oceanography, hydrographic surveying, and cartographic design.
