For more information about Coulson Aviation Australia visit www.coulsonaviation.com.au WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: We are seeking a Finance Manager with a strong financial and accounting background, coupled with sound business judgment and effective communication. Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential to this role. The Finance Manager will work on a variety of financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, building financial models, assisting with financial planning, performing research and analysis, preparing reports, and assisting with close processes. This role will also work closely with Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable and Payroll personnel, either in Canada or Australia. Duties & Responsibilities: Participate in the annual preparation of the budget and periodic refresh forecasts Internal Controls: Ensures implementation of sound accounting principles and reporting controls. Ensures that the department and source systems have processes for quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. Works closely with the VP of Finance, and leaders at all levels within Coulson Group, external business partners, and regulatory bodies to ensure processes that affect financial reporting are effective and efficient while enhancing internal controls and complying with accounting policies. Monthly management reporting: Prepare month-end analysis and reporting on financial performance and key performance drivers of the business including investigation and follow-up of material variances. Reconcile P&L and balance sheet accounts with effective supporting documentation. Taxation: Prepare BAS, GST, FBT and PAYG returns. Customer Profitability Analysis: Build and maintain customer margin and KPI reporting, for Executive and customer review. Continuously reviewing and improving the systems and processes and overseeing the creation of process manuals of each process being undertaken. Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting process, including the preparation of annual corporate financial statements Provide insightful financial reporting and appropriate commentary to senior leadership on monthly and quarterly basis Participate in projects that drive efficiency or quality, including leading, executing, and participating as a teammate in projects Develop operational and financial metrics, and analyze metrics in order to help the company achieve goals Recommend how to improve productivity of current processes using automation Collaborate across various finance and non-finance functions effectively Oversee the daily, monthly and quarterly activities of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll Perform other relevant duties as assigned Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business and/or similar discipline with analytical bias MBA and/or professional accounting designation preferred 5+ years relevant experience Aviation experience is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to build and manage new financial models Familiarity with ADP/other payroll software an asset Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and interpretation of results Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing, unpredictable, and often ambiguous environment Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook Proven ability to develop and execute on business plan and bridge any finance/accounting/regulatory change requirements to the business needs. Exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate and manage staff at all levels. The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $175,000 depending on experience
