We are the City Of Melbourne, a place to be bold and inspirational. About the Role: Join our Experience Melbourne team and play a pivotal role in shaping some of the city’s most iconic events. We are seeking an experienced Event Coordinator to assist in the programming and producing of major events such as Now or Never, New Year’s Eve, Melbourne Fashion Week and more. With the opportunity to work on two or more events annually, you'll be at the forefront of shaping unforgettable experiences for the community. As an Event Coordinator you will sit predominantly within the Now or Never team, helping produce the festival’s art, ideas, sound and technology festival program. With a solid knowledge of the performing arts industry, coupled with an established network of creative industry contacts, the coordinator will be responsible for many components including planning, programming and operations/logistical management, liaising with a range of industry stakeholders, developing and assisting with the marketing and communications strategy, budget management and undertaking thorough OH&S and risk assessments. This role will see you developing, coordinating, and executing large scale and community events across the Experience Melbourne Branch. Your responsibilities will primarily revolve around providing operational and administrative support for these events, including tasks such as programming, operations management, ticketing, budgeting, contractor oversight, and acquittal. With a strong emphasis on efficiency and effectiveness, this role encompasses significant administrative components crucial for the seamless delivery of each event. What you will bring to the Role: • Proven project management skills including the ability to provide input into the planning process, manage project plans and manage budgets & contract management as well as an ability to adapt to change and work within set procedures • Experience in programming, coordination and operations in an event environment – arts, community or music festival/events is highly desirable • Experience in a supporting role within a large event team and a proven ability to understand complex reporting lines and manage competing demands with an understanding of operational and risk management issues relating to major events • Demonstrated understanding of or experience with marketing, sponsorship and PR/media requirements within events • Skills in event administration including preparation of event plans, reports, correspondence, papers, database management, general office duties and advanced skills in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential What we can offer you at City of Melbourne • Attractive Remuneration & Benefits: Excellent pay package with a range of exciting benefits.
