Sponsorship Information
Inland Sponsorship
- Eligibility: You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Canada with your spouse or common-law partner.
- Advantages: Your spouse or common-law partner can apply for an open work permit while their sponsorship application is being processed.
- Rejection: If the Inland application is denied, there is no option for an appeal. It's recommended to reapply with more robust documentation instead of facing the higher costs associated with a judicial review.
Outland Sponsorship
- Eligibility: You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Canada with your spouse or common-law partner.
- Benefits: Your spouse may apply for a visitor visa while the sponsorship application is being processed.
- Refusal: If an outland sponsorship application is refused, you can appeal the decision at the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD).
